Christine Waite – Principal Solicitor
Christine grew up in Gerringong residing in Foxground on ‘Ellengowan’ dairy farm owned by her parents. She attended Berry Primary School and Nowra High School. Christine has worked in the legal profession since 1978. She commenced formal studies in 1989 with Sydney University and was admitted as a legal practitioner in April 1996. She has maintained her membership with the Law Society of New South Wales since then.
She worked as a senior associate/solicitor for a well respected large local firm in Wollongong for many years both in their Wollongong, Shellharbour and Sydney offices; as a solicitor for a boutique firm in Albury and for a large well known compensation practice in Sydney.
With the opening of Gerringong Legal in May 2008 Christine branched out into her own legal practice as a sole practitioner, and offers assistance with wills and estates, elder law, the buying and selling of properties and businesses, leasing, family law, motor vehicle claims (CTP), insurance claims, commercial litigation and workcover prosecutions.
Christine is a member of the Law Society of NSW, a Director of the Kiama Community College and a member of Gerringong Sunrise Rotary Club. She is also on the committee for the combined Rotary Clubs for Gerringong and Kiama annual Kiama Car Spectacular.
Christine was invited to talk, along with other professionals, at the Dying to Know, talk at the Community Centre at Kiama Downs in 2014 providing valued information to attendees in relation to
Estate Planning, Wills, Powers of Attorney and Enduring Guadianships.
Christine was also invited to talk at the Kiama Cancer Survivors Group.
Christine enjoys being involved in Rotary helping to raise funds for not only the local community but for many overseas disaster and projects. Her other interests include volunteering for the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard, leadlight, gardening, music, travel and spending time with family and friends.
Christine’s goal is to provide a professional and personal service as well as a clear understanding of the law to ultimately achieve results to the satisfaction of her clients.
